I am trying to compress large quicktime movies to mpeg-2. Some of the Quicktime movies that I am trying to compress are close to 2 hours in length and around 24gb in file size.
Right now I am using Apple Compessor. When I compress the large quikctime movie to mpeg-2, the mpeg-2 movie freezes usually around the 58 minute mark during playback.
I am making these files into mpeg-2 because I will be purchasing a playback server that uses mpeg-1 or mpeg-2’s.
Any thoughts on settings that i should use or any other programs that will fix my problem?

You need to provide a LOT more info. Read the top post on the main screen of the compression forum and provide some more detailed specs on what all you’re doing, from the specs of the original files to the export settings, codecs and compression program you’re using.
