poor text quality when compressing to dvd
hi there,
i’ve had a look over the forums but i can’t seem to find a solution to my problem. sorry if it has been posted already somewhere, but my patience is well and truly stretched.my film has got some static credits at the end (white text/black background) so nothing complicated.
the text looks great in FCP, when export it to mov – it looks great.
i put the mov in to compressor and use the best quality 90 mins setting and the preview is awful.i am only looking at it through my mac 27″ monitor, which i know isn’t ideal but it’s all i have atm – i’ve done a fair few burns to test on my TV and the text doesn’t come our crisp like in the mov or fcp at all.
here are the settings i have in FCP:
frame size: 1440×1080 HD (1440×1080) (16:9)
pixel aspect ratio: HD (1440×1080)
field dominance: Upper (odd)
editing timebase: 25
quicktime video settings: apple prores 422, quality: 100%Will be shown on PAL TV
if there are any other settings you need to know to help me solve this, let me know.
i’m probably missing something really basic so, please, if someone can put me out of my misery i would be very grateful.
thanks.
