I’m using a Panasonic SD600 PAL, shooting 1080p at 50 fps. Neither FCP or iMovie can convert the MTS files shot in this mode, only files shot at 25 fps. I’v been downloading every MTS converter available (well not quite, but many) and all of them have their disadvantages.

    iSkysoft videoconverter
Able to split (and delete unwanted) MTS files before exporting. Exports to HD mov container with h.264 codec. Looks a bit “bad jpg” though. Can’t export 1080 50fps, it’s either 720 50 fps or 1080 25 fps, and this is the major disadvantage.

    Voltaic
No split function, only trim in and out. Exports to any Quicktime you want, 1080 50 fps possible. But it’s so deadly slow that my career will be over before my 16 gigs of material have been converted. For real.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a converter that can do what I want, fast?
