Adobe Media Encoder problem–white showing up on blacks after encode
I edit with FCP and output by going to EXPORT>QUICKTIME MOVIE, then outputting a self-contained .mov.
From here I bring it into Adobe Media Encoder CS5. When I use h.264, sometimes after it gets done, the black at the beginning shows up white and even stays through the opening/closing fade.
I’ve even gone back in to the FCP timeline and added slug and or photoshop black underneath the fade to make sure it wasn’t a transparency issue–didn’t work.
If you have any ideas, please let me know, as I like the speed and general look of Media encoder better than my other compression software.

Okay, something even more odd came up… watching the following screwy video on a Mac looks bad… but if you watch it on a PC it looks fine. I’m confused, any ideas anyone?

Well, I ended up solving the problem by myself. For anyone who has this problem in the future, the problem seems to be when you set the target bitrate and the maximum bitrate as high as they will go.
After lowering the target bitrate the problem went away.
Still not sure why the problem only existed on the Mac side…
