    Hello all,

Like many others, I’m thoroughly confused by compression settings. The more I learn, the more confused I get! Here are some specific questions I have about Adobe Media Encoder CS5 for PC:

    1) After I’m done editing my sequence in Premiere, I close Premiere and open Media Encoder. Then I click on the “add” button to add my Premiere sequence to Media Encoder. I then adjust the settings and encode. Is this any better, worse, or the same as staying in Premiere and clicking on the file menu, then clicking “export” then “media”?

    2) If I consider only quality, and not encoding speed, is it then best to not click on the “use previews” check box in the Media Encoder settings window?

    Thanks!

    Mike

    1. – Exporting a finished clip will ensure that everything is rendered correctly but may affect he output quality.

    2. – Having the preview on will only affect speed.

Just wanted to point out the keystroke Ctrl+M just to exporting. Keystroke are an editors best friend!
