Compressor is converting to stereo mono! Why?
I’m converting my xdcam ex footage to xdcam HD, this is the codec my company uses and we are too broke to buy three xdcams, so we shoot with 1 xdcam and 2 ex cams. Leaving the converting up to the editor.
I’m using compressor to do so. The problem is that my audio which was originally recorded with 2 mics in 2 mono tracks onto the ex camera gets converted to stereo mono when I use compressor. Mpeg Streamclip does the same thing except even worse, I lose timecode!
My question is, what settings do I use under compressor that will keep my audio the same and just convert video? I get up to 6 hrs of footage at a time so it’s something I need to set up to cook overnight.
Audio settings:
Format: Linear PCM
Channels: Stereo (L R)
Rate: 48.000 kHz
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
