I have a 720 x 480 anamorphic video straight from after effects. It shows the frame size as 720×480, which is what I need. In the past, I’ve simply loaded the video in quicktime, selected apple TV, and I’ve gotten an m4v that’s still 720×480. It can then play in iTunes along with a list of other videos that are produced the exact same way with the exact same dimensions.

Now, when I follow that same process, it gives me 872×480. I’ve tried compressor and mpeg streamclip, with similar results. I’ve tried preserving aspect ratio and not preserving aspect ratio. It gave me various dimensions, none of which were 720 x 480.

What’s going on? How can I get an m4v in my exact dimensions?

I recently upgraded to snow leopard. Don’t know if that’s a factor.
