Problem converting WMV files on my MacBook Pro (Core 2 duo/2.66GHz)

    Running:
    OSX: 10.5.8
    Quicktime Pro: 7.6.6
    Flip4Mac: Studio version: 2.3.2.6
    Compressor: 3.5.2

Added two .wmv files (1280×720 progressive). Flip4Mac file import overlay popped up and ran four times. Then, when I move my cursor to select anything in Compressor (any window or menu), import overlay pops up again. Started to select export codec, file import pops up, etc. When Flip4Mac import overlay is active, no other controls are available. Ended up force quitting out of Compressor. Am now rendering in FCP – five hours for a forty minute clip!!! Am also converting on a couple of WinXP machines.

This is my first time using Flip4Mac, so it could be me. Is anyone using Flip4Mac in Compressor 3 and loving it? Is this normal import behaviour, or maybe just quirky files? Sadly, I do need a wmv solution and so far Flip4Mac doesn’t seem to be it.

Quick Cow search turned up a couple posts re: running Parallels as a good wmv solution. Am open to any suggestions.
