  capturing uncompressed from betacam sp

  Hi

  I have to capture a betacam sp video-tape uncompressed using blackmagic card by Mac.
  But the capturing has had dropped frames.

  I’ve tried to select “drop frames” and “no drop frames”,
  uncompressed “10 bit” and “8 bit”, (I always use NTSC – I’,m in Brazil), but nothing changed.

  Someone knows what is happening
  or which configurations are generally the right?

  It seems like your Mac system is not fast enough or powerful enough to deal with uncompressed. Why are you capturing uncompressed?

  We have a Blackmagic system and I believe the checkboxes you mention actually reference time-code (drop-frame and non-drop frame), not anything related to capturing. The only thing you’d have as an option to select upon capturing would be whether to “report dropped frames.”

  Our Blackmagic drivers have options to abort the capture if there are dropped frames or to continue and report them to the user.

  But Daniel is correct about the cause, your drive array isn’t fast enough for uncompressed.
