  Tips on QT Reference Movies for Web/Mobile?

  Just curious if anyone has a better solution for making a QuickTime reference movie for delivering a specific encode bases on the user’s connections speed.

  I’m looking for the best way to manage encodes for six edits (simultaneously in progress) that need to be posted to the web for client approval after each revision.

  I like to encode the spots as H.264s using the High Profile, but only the Baseline profile is supported for the iPhone, which is one of the delivery targets for these roughs.

  I want the higher quality I can achieve with the additional settings I access when using the High Profile, but also need to allow clients to view on their iPhones.

  I’ve used Apple’s MakeRefMovie, but haven’t had much success and it’s an extra/tedious step.

  Anyone know of another software solution to make these QT ref movies that reference a different encode based on the user’s connection speed? An encoder that allows you to create a preset that creates this reference movie perhaps?
