< 1mb flash encode size?
Hi,
I cut a few segments for a client on DVC Pro HD, each seg is around 1 and a half-2 mins in length. The client wants each seg encoded in Flash at 561×374 and between 800 k – 1mb! Flash is my least familiar codec. Is this even possible? I’ve tried, but at the smallest settings with the video looking like crap I can’t even get close to < 1mb.. Thanks for any help.. Cheers

Tell the client he’s got the frame size totally wrong, for a start.

With the correct frame size you should easily get good looking video at 1Mb/s unless it’s terribly difficult content.
Unless of course the client wants a final FILE SIZE of 1MB, in which case you’re gong to have serious problems getting anything to look half good.

Thanks for the post. The client didn’t say anything about per second, so I assumed it was final output size which seemed totally loonie. About the frame size, I didn’t really notice, but ya that size doesn’t work..
Oh well, back to the client..

We run into this issue all the time with Web Design folks. They design their player page and video windows at all sorts of odd sizes even though we give them a list of recommended sizes.

If EVER a web designer gives you an odd frame size and insists you’re wrong for complaining, show them this straight from Adobe developer network.
