I am editing a movie in vegas ms9 that shows a size in .avi of 30gig.
How much will that compress down to in mpeg and how much mpeg can I fit on a dvd-r sl disc?
Is there a ratio formula I can use for this ongoing?

sorry to ask you guys such simple questions

You need to know the length of your program rather than the size.

    Dan

Is that the length in .avi time?
Do you know if there is a place on a time line that gives the length of a project after editing. I can see the avi file size in the original files. This is in Vegas.
    thanks

    No, in meters.

    I’m kidding! Sorry.

I don’t use vegas but it must give you a timecode readout somewhere pretty obvious!

If not, open the avi in a media player and it’ll tell you somewhere in the interface.
