Compressing for youtube wide
Youtube has gone widescreen and in short order will be going HD. For a while now I’ve been using Brian Gary’s settings (https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/you_tube_redux_gary.html) to compress things for youtube using FCP and compressor, but youtube is no longer recognizing high quality in many of the videos. It’s pretty temperamental. So does anyone have any compressor recipes for a HD Widescreen-youtube friendly videos?
The HD will be available on youtube from February, but you can get access to it now by tacking &fmt=22 on to the end of the video’s web address.
For example:
High quality:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Edzk0_gWnMI&fmt=17
Super high quality:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Edzk0_gWnMI&fmt=22I managed to get this example to work, but getting other videos to pick up the quality options has been difficult. It’s inconsistent. Any solid compressor setting recipes?
