  Cranking up the speed

  Just curious how to speed up this compression process.

  Is anyone using render farms, real time MPEG 2 capture cards (like the old Spruce), multi-core processors, voo-doo, PC, MAC, whatever.

  Do any of these compression softwares actually make use of the dual core processors?

  We’re examining ways to accelerate this painstaking process.

  Farms of dual quad cores using gridding technology is currently the nicest way to do multiple jobs faster than realtime at high quality, splitting job over servers and/or cores.
