  H.264 MP4 compression optimization

  Can anyone recommend a software, hardware or settings solution to improve the quality of videos exported from FCP as:

  3 minutes duration
  1280 x 720/29.97
  H.264 MP4’s
  data rate 3-4K
  2 pass VBR

  I’ve heard that we may need to keep our data rate at 5K or above for acceptable quality for 1280x720P H.264 MP4’s but I suspect there may be ways to get it lower. Anyone have any suggestions that may help do that? Sorenson squeeze, etc?

  Episode from Telestream is your best bet on the Mac. Squeeze maybe capable but it isn’t as professional as Episode.
