Activity Forums Compression Techniques Balancing between text and live video

I’ve been working on a project that has both people and text on screen at the same time. It seems that I can get the type clear, or the people in sharp focus, but not both. With some settings, I get good clear text and the people all look soft. With other settings I get nice focus on the people, but the text has “beat-up” edges – some parts of the outlines are missing. I’ve played around with stroke settings on the text and found that soft edges actually compress better, but After Effects won’t give you soft strokes (combustion does).
Anyone have any incite into getting both to look good?

It should be easy to get both to look good, but without having any details of what you are working with (Video format, NLE etc) and what you are delivering to (format, audience, bandwidth etc)it’s impossible to offer any advice or tips.
