I shot a music video on the hvx-200. The footage looks great on my laptop but when I put it to dvd it looks poor. How does hollywood make great dvds even with footage shot in sd on prosumer cameras?

    Describe “poor”.
    How long is your movie?
What application did you use…also what settings? How much data on the DVD disc?

Poor meaning less than expected compared to watching independents shot on minidv. length of 5 minutes. Used final cut 6 to compressor to dvd studio pro. CBR 7.1 Mbps.

Most encoding apps have a “Quality” setting, basically a compromise between smooth motion and sharp images, experiment with a middle setting and a maximum setting.
