  NTSC .MXF files to PAL

  I shot some footage for a company in the UK on an HVX-200 at 1080 60i, recording to a Firestore FS-100. So now I have a bunch of 60i MXF files that I need to send to the UK on a hard drive. They are using FCP, I am using Premiere Pro 2, and After Effects 7.

  I’ve tried bringing the files into After Effects and exporting them via Apple Animation changing the frame rate to 25 (which I think is the same or similar to 50i which is what they asked for), and they look great but the files are much too large to realistically use. I tried using the Apple PNG setting in After Effects too, the size is better but still too big. Ideally I want to mail them a 500 gig drive with about an hour of footage on it.

  What is the best way to convert these NTSC .MXF files into a PAL format (probably quicktime) that they can use, as losslessly as possible?

  Any help would be much appreciated.
