In an earlier post regarding this it was recommended we install Parallels on our Intel Mac and use the free version of the Real Media Encoder. IS this the workflow?

    1) Edit on FCP and export reference file.

    2) Startup Parallels/Windows.

    3) Open the Real Media Encoder in Windows, import the reference file and encode.

Not familiar with how Parallels works. Will I be able to read/write to all the hard drives? Can the reference file be seen across platforms? Finally, is there a preferred Windows version? My guess this would be about the only application we’d use in Windows.

    thanks,

Don’t know about all else, but I’d certainly export a self contained QT not reference file if I were you. The odds of a reference file working properly under Windows would not be terribly high.
