enabling slider control of .wmv files
I’m running flip4mac pro and can’t seem to figure out how to make the .wmv files controllable with the slider.
I move it, but it just jumps back to where it was playing.
I can’t move to other areas of the movies.
anyone know how to enable this when I compress it?

Yo ho Chris… You have to increase the number of keyframes. Go into the advanced dropdown and increase the number of keyframes per second to every 1 or 2 seconds and see if that helps…

Windows Media Player seems to have completely lost its ability to scrub in its latest version. You can jump around using the scrub bar, but no realtime scrubbing. That’s a serious deficiency in my opinion. So, I’m afriad rasing the keyframes per second only works for Flash and QT.

What I really need to be able to do is this.
I launch a .wmv file.
It plays.
I grab the slider and move it from the 5 second mark
to the 45 second mark and it plays FROM the 45 second mark.For some odd reason as I make them now, if I grab the slider
and move to the 45 second mark, it goes right back to
the 5 second mark. I in effect must watch the entire
clip in realtime, it won’t allow me to advance forward or back.thats what I need to fix.

This is usually caused by the WMV file not being properly indexed. Ordinarily on a Win PC this can be resolved by using the Windows Media File Editor, which can simply re-index the file. Not sure what you’d do on the Mac.
