QT or wmv flip4mac out of FCP?
so, i was also wondering, is it best to export QT files from FCP and then convert them to wmv’s, and mov’s from compressor, or to output files from FCP as wmv’s and then to compressor, and QT’s as seperate, to become QT’s…thoughts?

Export By reference from FCP to and use that file in both F4M and compressor independently.

After exporting the Reference. You can open in Compressor and make the various codec you need including WMV with Flip4Mac which does work inside Compressor.

it’s unclear to me how to export as a reference file, is this as the export compressor option in fcp?

It’s an export option (not self-contained) out of FCP.

so export QT uncheck self contained, and it’s a reference file eh, what if i want to run compressor on another machine, does it need to reference the original media? or could i just move over the reference file over to the other machine to compress on?
