On2 Flix Pro settings
Hello everyone,
I currently use Flix Pro v8.52 to encode videos that avg 1 – 3min ea. (music videos)
I am looking to get higher quality video & audio @ lower bitrates.
I have an Intel based Mac Pro, (2) dual core 3.0GHz Xeon processors, 4GB of RAM…
My videos seem to be limited to 300 total bitrate (260 video, 40 audio) & 15 fps to be smoothly played on an older Pentium 3 PC (451 Mhz processor, 256 MB RAM, wireless, cable modem). Higer bitrates make the video play choppy, but @ the 300 total bitrate, the video is not choppy, but only comparable to YouTube quality.
History.com provides high quality video on the Pentium 3 machine, how do they do it?
Do they use a different encoder, like Kulabyte?
Do I just need to have the correct settings in Flix Pro?Here are the seetings I am using…
480×360 output dimensions
260 maximum video bitrate
20,050 Hz audio
40 kBits/s
2-pass VBR
60 keyframes
deinterlace
cropped to 704×480 (4:3 aspect ratio)
“Good” quality VP62, 75% CPUAny help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
