hi everyone – we just upgraded to squeeze 4.5 and one of the main reasons is that it says you have greater control of h.264 and can use “QuickTime compatible video codecs including Apple’s H.264–New!” . I was hoping that meant that we could now use h.264 in a .mov – but I can’t seem to find any options for this. There is still only the option of making .mp4 files.

Has anyone had any better luck with h.264 since this upgrade?

    thanks

If you need to make a QT .mov, just take the .mp4 output and open it in QT Pro, then do a Save As. This will write the movie as a .mov with no transcoding.

thanks! I wish I had found that out earlier

for anyone else that may look at this post…. it works with both Sorenson AVC and Apple AVC, but not if you select aacPlus v2 for the audio codec
