  quicktime progressive download problem

  I am using the h.264 codec for a fast start movie, resolution is 384×288.
  It is crashing both Internet Explorer and Firefox on a PC when downloaded,
  bbut plays fine in the Quicktime player locally. Any thoughts as to what may be the problem? I have version 7.0.2 of the plugin and player.
