I need to convert a DV Stream or QT movie from DV-NTSC to DV-PAL. I have Compressor 2 and Cleaner 6, I tried just applying a PAL setting to the NTSC file and both apps convert it, but the result is kinda shaky, like it was deinterlaced or something.

Any tips on the best way (settings) to convert NTS to PAL ?

With Compressor 2, you’ll want to go into the Advanced Format Conversion presets, apply an appropriate preset, and then turn on the Frame Control features. Automatic isn’t a bad choice. But if you want to burn a LOT of CPU cycles for max quality, you’ll want something like:

    Resize: Best
    Output Fields: Same as source
    Deinterlace: Best
    Adapative Details on

    Rate conversion: Best

I haven’t really gotten my head around Anti-alias and Details in practice yet. 0 for both seems to work reasonable well.
