    Hi All,
I’m trying to help the Sheriff by working on some security footage. Yikes!
Anyway, the security system saves the footage as .avi streaming files. It can’t save the footage as anything better, so I’m trying to upconvert the footage to QT and see if I can get anything out of it.
I am wondering what is the best settings to convert to QT? I am using the Apple DV codec? I didn’t find an uncompressed or animation codec? I have Microcosim, should I use that? I choose best, but there’s not any other options to improve the quality.I just want to make sure that I don’t lose ANY info when trying to upconvert.

    Thanks,

Use the Motion JPEG CODEC on best, for security footage (which is generally pretty poor quality) you simply don’t need uncompressed, Microcosim or animation, all of which will produce HUGE files.
