I’m trying to model a petal in C4D by using splines, symmetry and a lathe (drawing spline for half the petal, putting it into a symmetry object, and then repeating the process within a lathe object until it looks right).

Next I was intending to add some thickness to the petal by putting it under the cloth surface, but when I do this it looks like the petal was never connected along the line of symmetry and it’s still two separate halves.

Also, the thickness is building on opposite sides of the petal object for some reason:

Why is this happening? How can I connect the petal so it’s not split down the middle like this?

I’ve added my project file in case that helps.

    Thank you!

only use one Symmetry object, put the loft in that, like this.
