Posted by Oliver King on January 11, 2019 at 2:40 am

I recently purchased Octane for Cinema 4D and every time I try to render a sequence it renders a single frame then stops. In the logfile it says “error: out of memory”. I have tried a variety of render settings and both picture viewer and render queue. How can I either decrease memory usage or otherwise render the scene?

    Specs:
    Core i3
    GTX 1050 ti
    8 gigs of RAM

Any tips are appreciated, thanks a lot

How much system RAM? I’m assuming the 8GB is the GTX 1050. Also, if the Nvidia card is driving a large display, that could be using up the memory resources.

Can you drop your display down to a smaller footprint and retry the render?

I see on the FAQ, this: “OctaneRender also requires a minimum of 8 GB RAM, and we recommend 16 GB or more.”

    Hey Scott,
Thanks for the response. I have 8 gigs of system ram, the 1050 has 4. By display do you mean my monitor or render resolution?

    Thanks for replying
