I have an Illustrator file with a bunch of Illustrator layers that represent the separate frames of an animation. I’ve been asked to give them extrusion in Cinema 4D.

Is there a fast way to convert those layers into single animated splines? Or do I need to treat each layer as a separate object?

The outline splines will be the shape of each object and there are separate details that will be painted on top, such as facial expressions.

It’s going to only going to be about 4 seconds long and it’s pretty simple in style but I’m sitting here thinking about the best approach. Possibly it could all go to AE and come back into Cinema as a displacement map. Or it might be better just to treat each layer as a separate object in Cinema and edit them all together later.

    Thanks for any ideas.
