When extruding object create caps doesn’t create caps?
I’ve been using cinema 4d for a few months now and cant seem to figure out this seemingly simple problem I’ve had consistently- when extruding an object, the “create caps” checkbox doesn’t create caps! tired about everything i can think of (which isn’t much) i.e reversed normals, deleting phong tags, preserve/unreserve groups… here are some screenshots of my problem- any advice would be greatly appreciated.

what is the original object? Spline/polygonal? pictures or an example scenefile please.
