    Hi!

I’m trying to learn more about Sketch and Tune and I’m watching many tutorials. However, on every tutorial, the mographer opens up the Render Settings and adds Sketch and Tune to the renderer through the Effects tab.

When I try to do the same, I can’t find it!

Here is a printscreen where on the left is my render settings, and on the right is the tutorial’s render settings:

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Which version of Cinema do you have? I believe S&T only comes with Visualize and Studio.

To add to Adam’s comment, if you have a version with Sketch and Toon you need to use the Standard renderer (or one of the OpenGL renderers). It’s not available in the Physical renderer.

    Well, I use Cinema 4D R17 Studio

However, I managed to find a way around it, but for that I need to set the renderer on Standard.
If I put the renderer on Physical though, S&T disappears… Why? =(

    From the help file:

“The Physical Renderer bears a number of disadvantages. For example, it does not work in conjunction with Sketch and Toon, the Cartoon Renderer post effect, Specular lights, cylindrical lens (and other post effects displayed in the selection menu); motion blur does not work in conjunction with several special elements such as PyroCluster, visible lights, object glow; furthermore, hair is rendered much slower, hair Multi-Passes cannot be rendered; finally, no hard shadows can be rendered (Area shadows will be rendered instead).”

    Oh, now I understand! Thanks!

Also, I have another problem that I can’t quite solve. I’ve tried to research about it, but found nothing.
When I create an object and a blank material, when I apply the blank material to the object and then render it out, my object shows orange shadows.

This is an example image where the eyes of my character should be black with a white highlight, but instead is Orange. I also created a cube and added a blank material to it to render and see if the problem persisted:

Any clue of what’s happening? =/

Post a simple project file (just the cube, material, and light) that has the issue and let me see if I get the same result.

Here is the link to the project file.

Thanks again for the help! ????

    Glad to help.

The shading color is controlled by the Sketch and Toon render settings.

Oh wow!! There it was! haha

I turned off Colorize and everything started working fine.
    Thank you very much Jim!

You are very welcome. I have received a lot of help in this forum and others, so if I can ever give back a little I’m glad to do it.

    Cheer to you too.
