  • Trouble with airplane pulling a dynamic air banner

I’m working on a shot transition in C4D that is a particularly tricky wipe. Shot A will be placed as a texture onto a plane object that fills the entire view of the camera. Then an airplane will fly in from the bottom of the frame and pull the plane with Shot A like a cloth to one side revealing Shot B. As the airplane flies into Shot B, the cloth object with Shot A is sized down to a air banner that is being pulled behind the airplane with simple ropes. I’d love it if this could be as dynamic as possible but from what I’ve been reading it seems like I might have to do some baking of the cloth animation. I’d also like to know how to get dynamic splines to connect to other dynamic splines that also work with the physics of the flag so everything moves realistically when animating the body of the airplane.

I’ve been pulling my hair out the past few days trying to get something to work. How would an expert at C4D tackle this?
