Having a little trouble exporting paths from photoshop into illustrator.

Am I supposed to select all of the layers with paths? One at a time?

As of now, it exports out of ps and opens up in illustrator as a blank document with no paths.

    Any help?

    hey malcolm,

i believe you have to select the path and use the file>export>paths to illustrator… and it will only export on path at a time and the path shows up with no line or fill defined so it will look ‘blank’ but the path is there and can be changed as needed.

it’s really not as useful as it could be. you can also copy and paste paths from ps to ai, but they will not maintain there position with in the frame as easily as the export method.

you can try to copy and paste each of your ps paths into one ps layer. that way you can select all the paths at once and export that to illustrator. you’d then have to define the vectors to look the way you wanted in illustrator, which might be a little tedious depending on the art work…

ps, you do know this is an after effects forum, right 😉

Thanks Kevin. I’ll give it a go. I really should have just made this in Illustrator.

Aw man! I completely forgot that I was in the AE forum. After awhile, all the adobe apps just seem to role into one massive application.
