  Problems With Knife Tool – Complex Shape Cutout – or Cutout Ideas?

  Hi guys,
  I am attempting to use the Knife tool(hole mode) to cut an unusual shape out of a box. I am having the same problem over and over. I finally get back to the start point, click on it, and nothing happens. The cut points just dissapear, or it makes another point on the start point, instead of finishing the hole. I have tried this numerous times, with snap on and off. I make around 60 points in the whole cut. I try the Knife tool first(random hole cut) and it works.

  Does anybody have any ideas as to why this is happening. Or BETTER STILL, an easier way to cut a spline shape out of a polygon face of a box?

  I would draw the spline shape, extrude it, and then use the boolean object to cut the hole.
