    ….don’t want to use “magic prefs”…. it doesn’t have a suitable method for me. I’d like to make a keyboard shortcut for switching between 4-up view and single view…the same way the middle mouse button works. I’d love to be able to use alt+M or something like that. I am a total C4D newbie – just learning it – the middle mouse button thing is really getting in the way.

    Window/Customization/Customize Commands – in the Name Filter enter Toggle Active View (or in the Shortcut Filter click the middle mouse button) – if you select the ‘Toggle Active View’ you will see it has two shortcuts by default MMB and PgUp you can delete MMB and go with the remaining Page Up key or add anything you want
