    Hello,

I will try to keep this simple, as i;m sure my lack of understanding of C4D is only hampering my explanation.

    I have this background: https://i.imgur.com/jX6GiMJ.png

I’m trying to recreate the material, to make my own shapes, in C4D. I have the basic texture sitting on a few objects, but i’m missing something: https://i.imgur.com/nlzQD9X.png

I’m fairly happy with how it looks (i haven’t lit it or anything yet), but I want to get the curvy bit of the texture. Right now my colours have a sharp linear line where they change. All the lines are straight. In my example, the texture is all wavy, regardless of the shape it’s on.

I was wondering if there is a way to distort my texture to wake it more wavy, but still keep it procedural (i.e I don’t want to UV unwrap every shape I put this texture on, and do the curves there).

Any help would be much appreciated,

    Thanks,

The way the lines go is going to depend on the type of gradient you’re using (assuming you’re the gradient shader) and the UV mapping of your objects. Play around with the different mapping types (e.g. cubic, spherical, flat, etc.) and use the texture tool to move/scale/rotate the mapping in order to give your objects more variation.
