Hi everybody I was wondering how the following can be done

for a school assignment I want to shoot with a green screen.
2 person will performe a little dance/walk and the green will be keyed out that is not a problem.
However I want to fill in the person with one color (black) so you have a solid black dancer.

The apple ad for the ipodshuffle is the perfect example for what I have in mind
    https://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/ads/

are there any tips on how I could achieve this effect.
I’ve done some keying in the past so that shouldn’t be a problem, i’m just wondering how you could fill in the actor as a solid black object.

    hope you can help me…

    regards, Sin

there may be better ways to do this, but, once you have everything keyed apply the color balance effect (effect > image control > color balance) then turn the lightness down all the way and that should give you a black silhouette.

Yup, that should work, but since the in the iPod ad’s people isn’t completely black you could desaturate your image, then play with the levels to make it most black, and then set te layer to multiply so your highlights and midtones get the color from the background.

does this mean i have to key out the actor or the background
because i wan’t to shoot the actor (normal clothing) against a green screen
so i will be keying the background and not the actor
or is there any how how i can invert the key

yup, you can invert your key but you want to key the background of course. But you can

i’ve been reading the keylight intruction manuel
and have played a bit with the settings and some source material and using the foreground colour correction it is possible to make the dancer all black
So it’s looking kinda ippodish now 🙂

    Cool!

Could we see it when you finish it?
How are you capturing your footage?

Keying DV could be a nightmare.
