C4D Team render – rendering on large number of machines
Hello,
I am looking to render over a network of 20+ machines, the renders will take place overnight (When the machines aren’t being used). Is there a way of setting up a process in which I wouldn’t have to log in to each machine, open render client etc. Is there a way of automating the process from my machine?
On a more advanced note, is there a way of turning on all of the machines from my computer incase some of the machines have been turned off?

Ultimately, these are more of networking questions than C4D questions, but some help:
1. I’d look to have the programs launch at a specific time – say 6PM or whatever, and they’ll be ready to go. Programs exist to launch applications at specific events. I have the couple of machines in my office just launch it at start up and it stays in the background.
2. Wake-on-LAN is your friend. For a PC, you’ll want to access the BIOS. For a Mac, it seems it’s possible, but I couldn’t find a conclusive answer. Some links to get you started:
