  Yellow on green

  Hi, I am going to shoot a man wearing yellow clothes in front of a green-screen.

  Is there going to be any problem with the color when keying out the background?

  I am shooting in a well illuminated studio. I have a DVCPRO, but I am trying to get an HD camera. I have done chroma key before, but never with a yellow subject.

  I just heard that the keying out process could change the yellow into orange.

  Hi 🙂

  we had so much problems with yellow tubes in a futuristic set, that we completely repainted them.
  We’ve got a good matte, but the despilling changed the yellow in an unaceptable way.

  So I would say:
  It can be done, if you are not insisting on keeping the exact shade of yellow in the final composit.

  You’re going to have some nasty spill to contend with, but it will “work” technically.

  Any bright colors are going to accept a lot of spill from your greenscreen, so you should take steps to ensure your actor is as far from the screen as possible.

  Hi

  I already made the shots. I used Keylight and it changed the yellow when I picked up the “screen colour”. Ugly. Everything went to orange.

  But it was fixed adjusting the Screen Balance. Some problems with the edge, but looked ok in the final composition.
