    Hi 🙂

I used Aftereffects again and again for HD to SD downconversions and somewhere read on the cow that it does a very good job. Which I agreed until today … 🙂

I thought You have to live with fine detail jittering while pans, tilts or dollies.

Today I donwconverted a EX1 clip with the supplied Sony Software “ClipBrowser” and have to say I am absolutely stunned. Much better results. No such extreme jitter but still not softened somehow.

Whats that secret ?!? And how could you get such great results in Aftereffects ? Are there special downconversion tools ? Or additional plugins ?

I remember how much better the old Z1 was with InCamera downconversion of HDV material. Which is of course also a software solution, but in the camera 🙂

    So any Ideas ?

    Thanks!

    Peter
