I’m trying to illustrate a white blood cell absorbing a bacteria – not accurately, just illustratively.

I’ve got a ‘blobby’ metaballs white blood cell that I’m trying to have absorb a rigid body bacteria and I can’t seem to get it to work. I’ve tried making the bacteria a child of the meatballs and they ‘reach’ for each other before the germ gets absorbed. Also, with all the vertices on the bacteria it got veery slow.

What I’m really trying to do is get the WBC to envelope the bacteria but stay separate, so it’s like being absorbed into a super soft pillow that surrounds the bacteria, if you know what I mean.

Any pointers would be very gratefully received!

    Thanks,

    Adrian.

    Cheers, Adrian.

use proximal in the displacement channel of the wbc, by default it will go up towards the object you put into the proximal settings (your bacteria) but just use negative values and it will envelope it.

    Hi Brian.
Great – thats exactly the pointer I needed.
I watched one of Chris Schmidt’s tutorials on GSG and it all came together.
    Thanks again.

    Cheers, Adrian.
