  • Cloning along the surface and having everything match up.

I am at a loss here. I am creating a glove and the palm surface of the glove is supposed to very specific small discs flowing in lines along pads that fit the palm of the glove. I have played around with the clone tool and it just looks a mess. I can get them on the surface, but they will not line up at all. They just bunch together wherever they want. Is there anyway to fix this? it is so random.

if you distribute on vertexes rather than Surface (or whatever) you can directly control where the object go – the glove would need to have vertexes where you need them and you can use a selection tag to use only the points you want. Otherwise cloning along a spline is also controllable but if you are animating that would be a problem.
