  Creative Cow’s Rotoscoping DVD – section missing???

  Hey guys (and girls),

  I just recently got the Advanced Rotoscoping DVD from the Cow and went through it all. I thought something was missing when I watched it, so I went back and watched the trailer for it…and there it was! In the trailer for the DVD, it shows a piece where Pete uses his rotoscoped solids to create a day for night scene. It looks cool and was one of the biggest things I was looking forward to learning. The DVD however doesn’t have anything involving this. He shows how to use his created matte for use in a depth matte and incorporating a CG element (things I pretty much already knew), but didn’t show the one things I really wanted to know.

  Can anyone fill in the gap here on how to achieve this? Is it just using the newly created matte as a track matte for an adjustment layer with a curves effect on it, or is there more involved (I would think there is). Can anyone help out? It would be greatly appreciated. Just watch the trailer if you don’t know what I’m talking about.
