    Hi all,

    There is a sign at the entrance of the church I attend that I would like to replicate using Cinema 4D. The sign has 2 columns on either end that are composed of multicolored rocks. I have attached an image that shows the rocks.

    My question is: How would you model the rocks and the column(s)in 3D? I am a relative newbie, but can most likely figure out the specifics of any suggestions that are given. And how about the texturing?

    How I would do this:

    Correct the perspective of the image using photoshop so that it is a ‘straight-on’ image, you want this to appear to be orthographic (straight on). (By doing this you also just made yourself a texture) Trace each brick with a spline, (bezier or b-spline) Extrude splines. Add bevel to the created bricks, add a noise modifier if you wish for it to be a little more imperfect.
