    Hello,

    I’m trying to get this yellow shape to sit on the light blue platform shape… and actually, it is penetrating into that light blue shape a bit, but still appears to be floating.
    The attached pic is rendered with GI and AO on. I’ve tried a bunch of things, but can’t get it to look right.
    Using R14.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Looks like a soft shadow problem. There are a number of ways to address it:

    1. Use higher resolution shadow maps;
    2. Adjust the shadow bias setting;
    3. Use area shadows instead of soft shadows (recommended);
    4. Use luminous objects instead of lights (for GI rendering only).

    Thanks, Adam!

    That was it! Weird, because I was zoomed in WAY tight, and it looked like there was always a buffer zone of just “nothing happening” there. Ha! Thanks again for answering my bone-head question.
    🙂
