Hi, was wondering whether there was a way to add randomness to the brightness of a light or to the opacity in a display tag? I’ve created a scene that contains a large object suspended from chains in a steel works-type building. I’ve used Action Essentials video footage as a material on some planes as an easy way to add sparks to the scene, but I’d like to have the scene randomly lit with an orange light, as though the sparks were creating the flashes. I’ve got the orange light set up, which creates a nice shadow of the object on the ceiling, but now I’d like to be able to have the opacity of the light change at random. Is there a way to do this or will I have to keyframe it manually?

    Thanks,

    Simon.

the easiest way probably is to run a Noise node into the light’s Intensity in xpresso- set the Noise to Positive Only and up the Frequency to something that works for you
