  • use the Shader Effector to color a clone?

I have some clones generated across a plane with a camo pattern. I want the clones to inherit the same color as the plane, but I don’t want any specular, and I want them semi transparent. I thought I could apply a generic grey material to my clone source with no specular and with transparency, and then use the Shader Effector to *color* these clones, but I can’t get the color to pass through. In the image/file below, I have two examples: the left has the correct color, but the wrong shading. In the right, the clones have the correct shading, but i can’t get them to take the color.

You’re almost there with the second one (on the right). You just have to drop the mograph color shader in your material’s color channel so it can be driven by the shader effector.

I owe you a beer Adam! thanks. I never would have figured that out on my own.
