  • Can clones get brighter…

    Hello everyone,

I have a shot I’m working on where a camera is traveling through a tunnel lined with cloned circles. Is it possible to change their brightness as the camera approaches and then fall off as the camera passes?

I imagine it has something to do with clone index, multishader, distance node, xpresso and data node but how to wire them up is beyond me.

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Craig

you can use Proximal in the material on the circles set to key on at the Camera. Just put the proximal in the channel(s) you want – whatever you want to make the circle appear ‘brighter’. You just need to set the proximal’s range right (End Distance)

Tried this setup but dont think I’m setting it up properly. What does your object manager look like? Thank you!

    here’s a quick test 2914_proximaltocameratest.c4d.zip

I put the proximal in the color channel but you could put it in any channel depending on how you want the material to brighten.
