Texture changes
Posted by Jack Stewart on August 7, 2011 at 4:36 pmI have created two textures and loaded them on to two sepertae materials. What I want to do is have my animated object change from one material to the next. Is this possible. If so how?

August 7, 2011 at 5:25 pmThere are several ways to do it:
Two materials-
* place both materials on object;
* activate alpha channel in second material;
* add the color shader to the alpha channel;
* animate color in alpha from black to white to reveal the underlying material.One material-
Basically do the same thing but using the layer shader in each channel you want to change, i.e., by animating layer visibility.In order to do that you have to right-click on the word Layers and choose “show sub-channels” from the context menu. That gives you access to sliders that can be animated.

August 7, 2011 at 6:53 pmyou can also keyframe two materials in the Texture tags Material slot. Adam’s methods have a some more control over the speed of the change though since I think the Texture tag method is Linear only

How do I change the layer shader in each channel. Is this by using a display tag?
