  • Rendering 3D Model on top of footage?

    Hi,

I have this scene, I’ve got some aerial stock footage of NYC as a background, and I’m trying to make a 3D spaceship model land in the midst of the buildings, etc. Problem is, I don’t know how to track my model so that it moves with the footage like it should. Is there a way to track 3D models against the background, or any other way to achieve the track in C4D or am I going to have to export the model into a different program?

I am pretty new to C4D, by the way. I’ve heard there’s a way to export into After Effects…would this help me achieve what I’m trying to do? If it is, could you please tell me how to do it or point to a tut? Thank you very much for your time.

Generally what you would do is track the footage in a program like Boujou or Syntheyes and export the tracked camera to Cinema.
